Wassup world! It’s August 1st, summer is almost over, and life is shifting in positive directions for me and I hope for you too. I’m starting this new thing where I choose three words to keep me motivated and focused within the month. This month I chose: Create, Learn, and Inspire.
If you follow me on Twitter (I mean why not?) then you may have seen a few tweets of me talking about how I’ve been writing music and how I want an instrument eventually. That’s been so therapeutic for me after such a hard month of July. I’ve been reminded of how much I love to create things lately and I’m embracing that fully. I’m writing things, drawing, dancing. It feels amazing.
I’ve got a lot of things on my list to start learning this month but one of the main things is Youtube. I have no idea where to begin to when it comes to editing a youtube video but I’m sure it’s not that hard and I’ll pick up on it easily. My boyfriend has been telling me that I should start a channel since our first date and four years later I’m finally taking his advice lol. Thanks to my baby for always pushing me to great and continuing to believe in me.
I hope to inspire others this month by simply staying consistent. That’s harder for a lot of us than one may think. Setting a goal is easy and it gives you instant satisfaction that you’re giving yourself something to work towards but if you don’t stay consistent that can lead to feelings of failure and embarrassment. Sorry I went all “I’m your therapist” on you but I’m just looking out and now I’m going to say something hella cliche, do it for yourself. You’ll feel better. For me, even getting this blog post out on the first of August, like I said I wanted to and then actually pressing publish, is a small step in the right direction down the road to consistency.
Thanks for coming back to my blog! I close with this every time because I really get butterflies when people read my posts. It makes me so happy 🙂 What do you love about August? Can you think of three words to live by this month? Let me know in the comments!
